Our research groups
A competent and wellbeing employee of the future consists of four research groups.
Developing sustainable solutions that support wellbeing at work and lifelong inclusion in eco-social communities.
Explores and develops the links between learning, teaching and wellbeing in higher education and world of work.
Focuses on innovations and ergonomic solutions for wellbeing and safety at work.
We explore current issues in guidance and career counselling across all levels of education and in interdisciplinary guidance services. We study and develop guidance from the perspectives of individuals – students, clients, and counsellors – as well as work communities, organisations, and education and service systems. We aim to strengthen the quality of guidance and counselling by producing new knowledge for practitioners, experts, and developers. Research-based knowledge supports individuals in making meaningful and successful educational, work, and career choices throughout different stages of life, and promotes the competence and overall well-being of current and future employees.
Our research focuses on guidance and counselling competences, methods, and practices; interdisciplinary collaboration; transitions across the life course; and the structures and coordination of guidance services. We apply multi-method, particularly qualitative and practice-oriented research approaches, using, for example, interviews and observations. The results can be utilised in the planning, developing, and evaluating guidance and service systems. We collaborate nationally and internationally with education providers, companies, employment services, wellbeing services counties, the third sector, research institutes, and networks in the field of guidance and counselling.
