Six researchers started in HAMK’s own post-doctoral programme

Selections for HAMK’s post-doctoral programme have been made. The new post-doc researchers work in areas such as smart textiles, microbiology, organizational behavior, or built environments.
Last October we announced a new post-doctoral programme where those who have already completed their doctorates can continue their training in applied research close to world of work. The program had a public application process, and selections were made at the beginning of the year. Some of the researchers have already started working at HAMK.
Researchers chosen for the program, research topics, and supervisor at HAMK:
Sami Löfgren: Vocational teachers’ and workplace supervisors’ competencies and professional identity, supervisor Katja Vähäsantanen
Teemu Salo: Main focus areas stretchable electronics, wearable electronics & smart clothing, 3D-printed electronics, supervisor Satu Jumisko-Pyykkö
Suvigya Sharma: Harnessing microbial consortia for enhancing the performance of growing media for horticulture, supervisor Marika Tossavainen and Outi-Maaria Sietiö
Paramjeet Saroj: developing a healthy, tasty and structurally pleasing fungal food product, supervisor Ulla Moilanen
Merly Kosenkranius: Well-being in the context of education and working life, supervisor Liisa Postareff
Yoon Han: Research in the expanded notion of “novel urban ecosystems” integrating urban grey and urban green for regenerative urban environments, supervisor Outi Tahvonen
All those selected meet the objective of exploring research topics of European interest, namely green transition, social inclusion and digital transition.
“They have a strong motivation and ability to carry out applied and focused research to contribute to the vitality of society and the business sector as a whole. They are also willing to develop their research skills towards interdisciplinary research,” says Annukka Pakarinen, Research Director at HAMK.
