From idea to business – HAMK Offers Support for Students’ Startup and Innovation Activities

HAMK provides a wide range of support services to help students advance their startup and innovation activities. In practice, this means support for activities such as testing ideas, developing products and services, commercialization, and finding funding opportunities.

From Idea to Experiment with an Innovation Voucher

A concrete way to gain support for developing your idea is through the HAMK Innovation Voucher, which is intended for students who want to test, develop, or commercialize an innovative idea. You do not need an officially registered company or a business ID to apply. Having a promising idea is enough.

The Innovation Voucher is available at three levels:

The voucher is not paid directly to the student. Instead, HAMK covers agreed development-related expenses up to the value of the voucher.

The Innovation Voucher is part of the broader LaunchPad HAMK services, where ideas can be systematically developed into startups or other practical solutions.

Accelerate Your Startup Idea with LaunchPad HAMK

LaunchPad HAMK is an innovation acceleration service that offers students mentoring and opportunities to develop, test, and build a business around their ideas.

Support is available for areas such as practising pitching and presentation skills, user testing, market research and validation, IPR and patenting, networking opportunities and applying for funding. All aforementioned services are free of charge for HAMK students.

A new initiative, LaunchPad HAMK Community, is also being established around the LaunchPad ecosystem. Its goal is to strengthen HAMK’s startup ecosystem and create a community where ideas, expertise, and people come together.

The community welcomes both HAMK members and startup entrepreneurs from outside the university. Through LaunchPad Community, participants may gain access to HAMK office spaces, facilities and equipment, as well as opportunities to collaborate with other innovators and entrepreneurs.
