The 18th most sustainable university in the world
We were ranked 18th out of more than a thousand participants in the international GreenMetric ranking (2024), which measures the sustainability of higher education institutions and their operating environment.
Excellent education and quality system
In our most recent audit (2022), HAMK performed very well in the audit: The areas of education and quality management were both evaluated to be at the level “excellent”. Research, development and innovation activities (RDI) and societal engagement were evaluated as “good”.
We bring added value to our region
In our stakeholder survey (2023), HAMK’s stakeholders most often described HAMK’s activities as developing (81%), working life-oriented (79%) and inspiring (74%).

Strategy
Campus development
HAMK is constantly growing and developing. Through campus development processes, we want to ensure that our facilities meet our evolving needs and support studying, research activities, and collaboration with our partners.
At the moment, we are exploring the relocation of our Hämeenlinna and Riihimäki campuses to the city centres.

Our Sustainable Development Programme guides all our activities. The knowledge and skills for building a sustainable future are present in all our education and research and all aspects of everyday campus life.
