Student, important! Changes to multi-factor authentication: start using Microsoft Authenticator

Microsoft has announced that SMS and phone call authentication will no longer be available. To continue using HAMK services, you need to use Microsoft Authenticator for multi-factor authentication.
If you already use Microsoft Authenticator, you do not need to do anything.
If you have been using SMS or phone call authentication, set up Microsoft Authenticator as soon as possible.
How do you set up Microsoft Authenticator?
Follow these steps if you use text message or phone authentication:
- Go to Security info. You can also check which authentication methods you currently use on this page.
- Select Add sign-in method, and then select Microsoft Authenticator.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
Registration campaign coming soon
During the next two months, we will run a registration campaign for users who do not yet use Microsoft Authenticator. When you sign in, you will see a notification asking you to register Microsoft Authenticator. You can skip the notification for one week. After that, you must register Microsoft Authenticator before you can continue signing in.
