Experts and projects promoting development

Are you interested in cooperating with us?

Do you need research, testing or product analysis services? Or is your organisation interested in conducting long-term projects with partners?

Our research specialists are multidisciplinary experts and we can provide research, development and innovation (RDI) services tailored to your organisation’s needs.

Projects, meanwhile, are broader sets of activities through which we take industries forward together with our local, national and international strategic partners.

Developing and innovating together

Engaging in development activities together with our experienced experts and, where appropriate, students, will ensure your organisation’s performance evolves and your competitiveness grows.

Our research environments are top quality and include laboratories and virtual environments, as well as fields, greenhouses and forests.

Our applied research provides solutions for raw material production, the circular economy, sustainable construction and the built environment, and future skills and education. We have created three research ecosystems focused on these themes together with our partners: SmartBio, SmartBuilt and SmartEdu.

Assessment of Workload and Technology Needs

We provide the opportunity to test wearable exoskeleton robots to ease work strain. We assess the need for their use on a task-specific basis, based on measured data and user experience.

Cooperation with students

10 000 new ideas – projects, internships, theses and recruitment opportunities!

Student projects are an alternative to outsourced expertise. They involve an investment of time rather than money by the client, and are carried out at the pace of students’ studies. Read more about student projects here.

Open science principles in cooperation

Our research, development and innovation (RDI) activities are built on the principles of responsible science, which include impact, ethics, and openness. Cooperation with companies forms the majority of our RDI activities – in this section, we explain what the transparency principles mean for business cooperation.

We support companies in open innovation activities in which the producers and end-users of information work together. Openness means sharing the research processes, data, and results openly when possible and ethically justified. At the same time, we recognise that business cooperation often involves confidential information that requires special protections. Therefore, during the project preparation phase, we take measures to agree on data protection and security, the management and ownership of the research data, and the transparency of research results, while considering the needs of the company, the funding terms of a potential external funder, and HAMK’s internal research ambitions.

All our RDI projects comply with responsible conduct of research and research ethics. This covers all RDI activities, including cooperation with companies. The ethical review extends from data protection to accessibility. It ensures that cooperation is transparent, fair and socially sustainable.

We aim to communicate about our RDI projects and their results through multiple channels keeping in mind the unique perspectives of the intended target groups. This increases the impact and visibility of our research and enables the creation of new forms of collaboration. We see openness as a way to build trust and strengthen the regional, national and international impact of our activities.
