Canasta -recycling fertilizer test
The test monitors the effect of the recycling fertilizer on yield and enhances the fertilizer’s effect with an activation solution treatment. Two 9m strips were established in the field-scale test area, where different amounts of fertilizer were applied.

Weekly observations from test plots included leaf greenness (SPAD), plant density, number of side shoots, plant height, weeds per m², and pests. The amount of leaf greenness varied more in the control area than in the treated test plots. Leaf greenness was highest in all plots at the end of July but decreased more rapidly in the treated plots in August.
Samples were taken from a 100m distance, and with the width of the combine harvester’s cutting table being 5m, a yield of 500m2 was obtained. From the test area where the Fertilex fertilization level was 60 kgN/ha, the yield was 191 kg, which corresponds to 6367 kg per hectare. From the test area with a fertilization level of 30 kgN/ha, the yield was slightly lower at 190.5 kg, corresponding to 6350 kg per hectare. The yield from the test area fertilized solely with slurry was 151.5 kg, corresponding to 5050 kg per hectare. Based on the results, the best yield was obtained with Fertilex 6-1-2 fertilization and cattle slurry, although there was no significant difference between the Fertilex treatments.

Research and experimental activities
In 2020-2021, the plot was studied for grassland termination and nutrient fibre application. More information report.
The plot had a variety and a fertilization trial for autumn grains. There were 16 wheat varieties (including one spelt) and 11 rye varieties (mostly landrace rye). All varieties were replicated twice, with one fertilized and the other unfertilized.
