Our broader objective is to ensure that all students studying in vocational education, mainly students belonging to especially welcome groups, receive the support they need to acquire the necessary skills, complete their studies, and find employment on an equal basis.

To achieve this, we aim to:

1. clarify the processes and practices of special support and multi-professional collaboration in vocational institutions;

2. improve the competence of vocational education personnel in supporting students and multi-professional collaboration;

3. develop vocational teacher education, special teacher education, and student counseling education to provide better qualifications for inclusive education development; and

4. disseminating the use of developed models and tools nationally.

Target groups

Teaching and guidance staff, and management in vocational education and training, professional teacher trainers, vocational education providers, professional teacher education units.

Area of activity

We reach almost all vocational education and training providers in Finland through regional and national measures. The operating areas of HAMK and Salpaus (and Spesia) are: Kanta-Häme, Päijät-Häme, Varsinais-Suomi and Kymenlaakso.

Additional information

INKLU enables nationwide co-creation and influencing. We enable a new kind of development cooperation between Vocational Teacher Education and vocational education and training providers. We will work in close cooperation to develop the quality of special support for vocational education and training. At the national level, common criteria and policies will be created for the implementation of high-quality special support. At the same time, cooperation between education administration and regional education providers will be intensified.
