EMBRACE – A New Era of Digital Higher Education Cooperation Project

The EMBRACE project aims to address the needs of Latin American partners in developing and implementing institutional reforms to modernize higher education. It recognizes education as a powerful tool to tackle both regional and global challenges.

The project emphasizes co-creation with various stakeholders, including students, teachers, managers, and a minimum of 10 industry and society partners. Together, they will develop transferable models for innovative education-industry collaboration.

During the project timeline, over 250 students from 5 Latin American HEIs will participate in new pedagogical practices, gaining relevant competences and concrete work experience.

The EMBRACE project has been co-funded by the European Union with the project number 101083111. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Neither the European Union nor the granting authority EACEA can be held responsible for them.

Impact and results

The project will support the professional development of 25 teachers through joint online learning modules, badge-driven competence development processes, MOOCs for 300 teachers, and the provision of open access learning materials and guidelines. Moreover, 15 educational managers will define guidelines for teachers’ digital and pedagogical competence development and assess the sustainability of educational change and the achievement of project goals within the HEIs’ learning ecosystems and their industry partners.

The result of the EMBRACE project will be modern and resilient HEIs in Latin America with the capacity to leverage digitalization for creating inclusive and student-centered learning experiences. The new co-creation models will involve a variety of different stakeholders, contributing towards a robust and sustainable learning ecosystem.
