Grants for studying

Students in Finland may be eligible for financial aid for their studies. This support is only available to students who live in Finland permanently and hold a continuous or permanent residence permit granted for reasons other than studying.

If you have a student residence permit

If you are studying in Finland with a student residence permit, you must have secure means of support for the entire duration of your studies. Student financial aid from Kela is not available for students who hold a residence permit for studies.

For more information on income requirement for students, please see the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) website.
