Right to learn – Skills to teach

Information about the project

right to learn

The Learner’s right – teacher’s skill project develops teacher education within the themes of special support and multiprofessional guidance. Currently under reform, the General Upper Secondary Schools Act and the reform of vocational upper secondary education create new types of challenges for teacher’s work and everyday life at educational institutions. Through cooperation, the project seeks for solutions for everyday challenges and for the development of teaching as a profession, as well as to support leadership.

The development themes include:
Theme I Pedagogical development of curricula
Theme II Joint studies offered by teacher education institutions within the themes of special needs education and guidance counselling
Theme III Towards a new operational culture

Coordinated by HAMK Professional teacher education, the project involves five universities of applied sciences offering professional teacher education, the Universities of Helsinki, Tampere and Oulu, and Åbo Akademi University.

Learner’s right – teacher’s skill is funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and implemented between 1 October 2018 and 30 September 2021.
