Please note that the best way to keep up to date with what’s happening in the world of sport is to follow HAMK Moves on Viva engage and Instagram.

Häme University of Applied Sciences offers a wide range of physical activities to promote the well-being of its students. A wide range of physical activity opportunities are available on every campus, and the aim is to support students’ physical activity and thus, among other things, their ability to study, on an equal footing.

Hamk Moves is responsible for student mobility in cooperation with local student associations on and around the campuses of Hämeen ammattikorkeakoulu.

Exercise pass for the Hämeenlinna University Sports Hall

Access to the sports hall of the Hämeenlinna University of Applied Sciences Centre is obtained by purchasing a sports pass sticker, which is attached to a student card or other ID card. When purchasing a sports sticker, students are activated with extensive access rights to use the sports facilities. The access rights are activated either on the student card (new model) or on a separate access card. You can buy a sports pass for one semester or for the whole academic year.

The pass entitles the holder to use the sports hall of the Hämeenlinna University Centre. The sports hall has a comprehensive gym, which is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition, the pass entitles you to fitness lessons and ball games at both FitStation and the sports hall.

Hamk Moves also organises a number of sports courses during the school year. Where there is an extra charge for sports courses, they are priced in different categories. The lowest prices are always for sports pass holders. The range of sports courses on offer and instructions can be found on this page.

Exercise pass prices:

Student body member: €45 per semester, €80 per academic year.
Other HAMK students: 55 euros / semester, 100 euros / academic year.

Spring semester 8.1.2024 – 31.8.2024

You can buy a sports sticker at the HAMKO office in Visamäki. In Hämeenlinna you can get a pass from the HAMKO office, on other campuses you can get a pass from the information desk.

Combining study and sports

Häme University of Applied Sciences is committed to supporting students in combining their sports career with their university studies.

HAMK belongs to the Tavastia Sports Academy, through which students who pursue sporting goals receive individual support to help them combine studying and sport.

Sports students apply to HAMK through the normal application procedures. Once selected as a student at the university, they can contact the university’s sports coordinator for advice on practical arrangements, such as applying for membership of the Sports Academy. Planning for a career in sport is also started as soon as you start your studies. If a student athlete does not meet the criteria for the Sports Academy, a number of support measures can still be offered to enable him/her to combine sport and studies.

Tavastia Sports Academy

The Tavastia Sports Academy is a sports organisation in Kanta-Häme, combining studies and sports coaching for young athletes aiming for the top. The academy offers athletes a comprehensive network of services, including good training conditions, support services and coaching at the place of study, in addition to combining sport and studies. It is coordinated locally by Koulutuskuntayhtymä Tavastia and nationally by the Sports Academy Programme under the Finnish Olympic Committee’s top sports unit.
