Natural Resources and Biotechnology in HAMK
We offer three Bachelor’s Degree Programmes in English in the fields of agrology, horticulture and forestry. Our strengths are unique learning environments located on our campuses, such as an educational and research farm, greenhouses and a demonstration forest. With us you will take theory into practice!
We have close connections with employers in the field, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other degree programmes. This gives you an amazing opportunity to network and get to know people from your future field. After graduating, you will be able to work in expert roles and genuinely influence the sustainable and innovative development of the natural resources sector.
What is studied in this field?
The natural resources and bioeconomy sector encompasses a range of courses that prepare you to work towards sustainable and regenerative use of natural resources. You can specialise, for example, in:
- the sustainable use and management of natural resources
- climate-wise primary production
- entrepreunial and innovative approach
Our degree programmes address current societal and environmental challenges, and after graduation, you will have the tools to do meaningful work in various positions.
In our degree programmes, we combine theory with practical work. Assignments, practical projects and theses are based on real challenges from working life.
In addition to traditional classroom teaching, depending on the course, you will complete your studies either outdoors in fields, forests or parks, or indoors in cowshed or greenhouses. The study approach is interactive and you will receive guidance from experienced professionals with expertise in the field.
