Developing manufacturing and the built environment
We are the developers of the future of construction and technology solutions. We are doing our part to solve the world’s most relevant problems, particularly in the field of sustainable construction and the use of new technologies.
We focus on applied research and action that is ambitious, but also concrete and useful. For example, we are involved in developing energy efficiency and fire safety in the built environment, researching bio-color production methods and sustainability, and expanding the potential of robotics of the Kanta-Häme and Pirkanmaa regions, located in southern Finland, together with our partners. Our research activities aim to find ecologically sustainable solutions that take into account the impact on the climate and material cycles.
We provide our customers with high-quality construction and materials research services. We are involved in national and international cooperation networks, such as the ICP Materials network on the impact of air pollution and the SCEC dynamic steel construction platform. Our expertise is reflected in each of the HAMK’s research key ecosystems: SmartBio, SmartBuilt and SmartEdu.
