How can companies and municipalities prepare for energy supply disruptions, price fluctuations and exceptional situations? In the new project, we will strengthen the energy security and security of supply in the Kanta-Häme region.

Disruptions to energy systems, fluctuations in energy prices, and tightening climate targets place new demands on companies and municipalities. In the new project, we will strengthen energy security, energy resilience, and security of energy supply in the Kanta Häme region as part of the transition towards a carbon-neutral energy system.

In the Energy security and carbon-neutral growth in Kanta-Häme (EnergiaTurva) project, we map the current state of energy security in SMEs and municipalities and identify key risks and development needs of Kanta-Häme. We provide concrete tools and operating models for assessing and monitoring energy security, energy resilience and security of supply.

We will focus in particular on how companies and municipalities can prepare for energy supply disruptions, price fluctuations and exceptional situations, while promoting energy efficiency and low-carbon solutions. We will also examine the significance of energy flexibility and energy storage, such as heat‑ and battery storage, in achieving the operational reliability of energy systems and carbon neutrality targets.

Our key goal is also co-creation with the region’s companies, municipalities and the energy sector. We therefore invite companies and municipalities to actively participate in the project’s interviews and workshops, so that the developed indicators, evaluation models, and proposals for measures are practical and meet real needs. At the same time, we will strengthen regional cooperation and support the creation of new business and expertise around the energy transition. We report the analyses, recommendations and publications resulting from the project openly, and they support companies, municipalities, and other stakeholders in decision-making concerning energy systems.

We are implementing the Energy security and carbon-neutral growth in Kanta-Häme (EnergiaTurva) ‑project during the period 1.4.2026-31.8.2027. The project is co-funded by the European Union.
