About me
I work in the HAMK Tech research unit. I lead a team researching and developing Smart City solutions. We are specially focusing on developing AI-enhanced decision support in the context of data-driven, digitally networked, and sustainable solutions for urban environments. Our goal is to promote the use of smart technologies, such as IoT, artificial intelligence, and data analytics in built environments to strengthen data-driven decision-making of humans, not to replace them
My team collaborates with the cities of Hämeenlinna, Riihimäki and Forssa. We’re also actively looking for companies to collaborate with.
I have a PhD in technology, software engineering to be precise (Tampere University of Technology, 2013) and in addition I have teachers qualifications (HAMK, AOKK, 2005). I also study social sciences in Tampere University. Previously I’ve worked at Tampere University of Technology as a university lecturer publishing mainly related to computer science education.
I have also worked in the private sector in multiple roles at Vincit and Pinja, for example as a project manager of software and DWBI projects. Agile development and continuous improvement are my way of working with my team.
