We will expand access to the teaching profession and support lifelong learning.
We will bring extensive expertise in teacher education, pedagogical development, and lifelong learning. Drawing on our strong experience in designing flexible, competence-based learning pathways, continuous professional development programmes, and educational reform initiatives, we will support the development of high-quality and accessible teacher qualification pathways in Ukraine.
Together with our partner, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (KKNU), will widen access to the teaching profession, reduce structural barriers for career changers, and promote lifelong learning aligned with European standards for alternative teacher certification. By creating a flexible, nationally recognised pedagogical entry pathway for subject‑specialist graduates with no pedagogical qualifications, we contribute directly to strengthening Ukraine’s teacher supply in the short- and medium-term while supporting more resilient workforce planning. By lowering entry barriers without compromising high pedagogical standards, we offer a sustainable response to teacher shortages.
Target group
Non-pedagogical degree holders in Ukraine.
Operating area
The programme will be embedded in KKNU’s operations and piloted as a flexible, practice‑oriented teacher education model to support educational reform and long‑term teacher supply in Ukraine.
Main Outputs
- A competency-based framework for a 48 ECTS pedagogical qualification pathway.
- A complete programme model including curriculum structure, course descriptions, learning outcomes, and assessment principles.
- A jointly authored professional article.
- An institutional implementation roadmap for KKNU.
